The Suffolk & North East Essex Training Hub is now taking applications for Minor Surgery and Joint Injections courses, provided by Dr Soon Lim. These courses will take place on the 26th and 27th March 2026.
The MINOR SURGERY course is based on the syllabus of the old RCGP 2-day course. To reduce the time spent in an indoor meeting, the theory lectures have been shifted to an online platform which can also be accessed afterwards as a reference resource. This leaves the practical skills which are taught, practiced and assessed in 1 whole day. There is also a MINOR SURGERY UPDATE half-day course for those who are already skilled in and practicing minor surgery.
The JOINT INJECTION course is based on the old RCGP 1-day course and covers the diagnostic tests, injection techniques and rehab exercises for the most injected condition in primary care for the elbow, shoulder, hand/wrist, and knee. The 3-hour practical session will be carried out on synthetic simulation mannequins. There will be a ratio of 2 delegates to a full set of mannequins. It is suitable for novices for GPs, GPSTs, ANPs, ACPs.
** The Joint Injection course is a suitable UPDATE for Physiotherapists already trained in joint injections but is NOT for novice physiotherapists.
