This 3-day National Minor Illness Centre course is designed to improve your skills in history-taking, clinical examination, diagnosis and management of acute illness.
NMIC are primary care clinicians who see patients with acute illness and understand the challenge of early diagnosis and the problems implementing high-quality evidenced-based care.
Our experience and insights are distilled into what has become the standard textbook on minor illness, which is now in its sixth edition and has sold over 30,000 copies (you will be given a copy on the course). We accept no sponsorship; our advice is completely independent.
This is a practical course which includes presentations, demonstrations, and group activities. It will give you a solid grounding in the skills needed to diagnose and manage acute illness.
You will receive a certificate of attendance, but this alone is not an assessment of competence. To be recognised as competent to run a rapid access or “book on the day” service in the eyes of CQC and your indemnity provider, you can undertake further study with assessments to gain a recognised qualification such as the NMIC Diploma.
