The ‘Fundamental Skills for General Practice Assistants’ is a 36-week, part-time course that builds the knowledge and understanding you need to work as a safe, effective GPA.
You don’t need any prior experience, just an enthusiasm to learn. The course is delivered by Anglia Ruskin University’s experienced tutors.
Get started! ARU’s experienced tutors will support you throughout the course, and your practice will allocate a GP to serve as your ‘mentor’ and sign off workplace tasks.
You’ll carry out approximately three hours of learning per week, including live, online group discussion sessions, online activities and workplace-based tasks.
Halfway through the course, you’ll have the opportunity to join a hands-on, practical training session at Anglia Ruskin University’s Chelmsford campus.
This level-4 course is worth 10 university credits. Once you have successfully completed the programme, your practice will receive a small financial contribution, in recognition of their support.
