Eating Recovery Service

Suffolk Mind’s Eating Recovery service is for individuals suffering from disordered eating.

Whether they have a diagnosis, or traits of an eating disorder, and feel they need a service to support and foster their desire to change.

Each group is a safe, non-judgemental environment which encourages growth.

Eating Recovery support groups run face-to-face and virtually. Face-to-face groups are held during the day and in the evenings, both in Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds.

There are different groups to cover different eating challenges, such as anorexia, bulimia (food restriction, food aversion), and binge eating disorders (food addiction, compulsive eating).

These groups can help reduce isolation for participants, and help people gain support from others who are experiencing similar challenges.

The programme offers education, learning about mental health and wellbeing, and how that can affect our thinking and behaviour. We offer psychosocial education, to help understand relationships and unhealthy patterns. We also offer CBT techniques to inform and development healthier coping strategies.
