This workshop that aims to strengthen reception staff confidence, skills, and cultural competence when interacting with patients from diverse backgrounds.
This includes communicating with patients where there are differences in ethnicity, language, disability, neurodiversity, gender identity etc.
The workshop will examine:
- How diversity shapes patient expectations, communication styles, and access needs
- Inclusive, trauma‑aware communication techniques
- How to respond confidently to challenging or sensitive interactions
- The use practical tools for working with interpreters, carers, and advocates
*Staff attending the event are very welcome to bring their own lunch and refreshments to enjoy during the workshop. Please reassure your team that this workshop is centred around case studies and collaborative discussion, there is no role play element.
